-
Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) is an advanced certification earned through extensive training with the Institute of Physical Art in Functional Manual Therapy® and completion of a rigorous written and hands-on examination. It reflects a strong commitment to clinical excellence and ensures a consistent, high standard of whole-body care among certified providers.
While FMT is grounded in a precise and systematic approach, the experience of being treated by a CFMT is often best understood through how it feels:
“It’s difficult to fully define—but you know it when you feel it. It’s the ability to assess, localize, and address the true source of a problem with precision. It’s a focused, efficient process that combines hands-on treatment, movement analysis, and behavior change to retrain the body to function as it was designed. It goes beyond simply relieving pain, it’s about helping you realize and pursue your full potential.”

We operate outside of insurance networks to provide the highest quality, patient-centered care. In traditional insurance-based clinics, therapists are often required to see 2–4 patients per hour, relying on aides and generalized treatment approaches. Under that model, insurance dictates the amount of time spent and number of sessions spent working with a client, which often compromises the level of care.
In an out-of-network system the therapist has full autonomy to create a plan of care that best serves the patient and is able to deliver the highest quality of care. This results in quicker resolution of symptoms ultimately getting you in and out of therapy sooner, versus if you were going to a clinic that was insurance based but only had 15 minutes or minimal time with one-on-one care.
